Democracy, by the People to blame the People
Published on May 23, 2023 democracy government freedom rantDemocracy, a system whose shortcomings are always blamed on the voters, distracts the attentions of the masses from the elites, by making them blame and fight eachother instead of the elites who cause the shortcomings.
Democracy is a kind of holy grail for the elites because, unlike in an authoritarian state where the blame falls entirely on the shoulders of the state and the target of revolutions is the state, in a democracy, people will fight other side for voting for the wrong solutions, failing to see that, while distracted by their fight, they loose ground in the ultimate battle against the government.
The people in a democracy will also give more power to the government, hoping that the government will use that power to tackle the other side (“The government should censor fake news”, “Mass surveilance is necessary to protect our children on the internet”). The government always wins. Through their fighting, the masses give more power to the government, fulfilling its need for power1.
I abstain myself from adding examples from the real world, so I leave this article in the abstract plane, as to not distance any potential readers. Find the examples yourself!
While this may be a criticism of democracy, I still it’s the best political system Man has ever created. I would consider this a criticism of Mans stupidity.
